La asentada de rezos realizada en la plaza de la catedral de Milán (Occupation de la place du Dôme à Milan), y de Bolonia y del Coliseo ha levantado la santa indignación de los italianos (Italie: Le ministre va interdire les manifestations devant les lieux de culte). Mirad las fotos y decidme lo que pasaría si en Turquía a un grupo de cristianos se les ocurre ir a rezar un rosario a las puertas de una mezquita. Digo Turquía porque es nuestro socio principal en eso de la Alianza de Civilizaciones.
El Párroco de Oregina, localidad cercana a Génova, ha enfurecido a las derechas con un belén en el que aparecen una mezquita y el Muro, con sus pintadas y murales pacifistas. “He reproducido la Palestina de hoy, ¿dónde está el escándalo?” se defiende el cura. La prensa de la Lega Nord clama al cielo: “Sólo falta el palestino kamikaze”, “Occidente se baja los pantalones”…
Curillas progres, como los de San Carlos Borromeo, con afán de protagonismo (e iglesias probablemente vacías).
Nos lo cuenta al-REUTERS, cuyo plumilla no pone ningún reparo a dejar claro que no le gusta nada:
Ahora ha volcado [la Lega Nord] su atención a la religión de los recién llegados, envalentonados con encuestas que muestran que muchos italianos desconfían de los musulmanes y que un tercio de ellos no quiere una mezquita en su barrio.
¿Son unos valentones por poner en práctica las preferencias del pueblo soberano?
Calderoli, ahora un ministro de gabinete, paseó un cerdo sobre el emplazamiento propuesto para una mezquita para profanar el suelo o lució una camiseta del profeta Mahoma, provocando disturbios en Libia.
¿Profana un cerdo el suelo de una futura mezquita?
Pero el destino de una mezquita en Colle Val D’Elsa, en la zona rural de la Toscana, retrasada por la feroz oposición de la gente del lugar, sugiere que las mezquitas construidas en zonas al interior tampoco prosperarán.
¿Feroz? ¿Han llegado a las manos o a las armas «las gentes del lugar»?
Pero veamos en que consiste esa ley:
La ley de la Liga prohibiría que se construyan mezquitas a menos de un kilómetro de una iglesia, obligaría a los imanes a hablar italiano, vincularía el tamaño del recinto al número de feligreses en la congregación y les prohibiría a los muecines usar altavoces para llamar a los fieles a rezar.
Prohibiría los minaretes y, de modo crucial, les daría la última palabra a los residentes del lugar por medio de un referéndum, lo que efectivamente significaría que no haya nuevas mezquitas en las zonas del norte dominadas por la Liga.
La veo muy razonable. De hecho es una ley de mínimos. Téngase en cuenta que cunado un país musulmán autoriza la construcción de una iglesia sin cruces exteriores ni campanario (ni campanas, por supuesto) nos lo venden como ejemplo de la tolerancia musulmana. Pues esta ley tan “intolerante” es de hecho más permisiva.

Un vigilante de la galería de arte Ca’ Rezzonico de Venecia, en el noreste de Italia, expulsó a una mujer que había entrado con el rostro cubierto por un velo islámico, que sólo dejaba ver sus ojos, informan hoy los diarios italianos.
La turista acudió el pasado domingo al museo y no tuvo ningún problema ni a la entrada ni en las taquillas del museo, pero uno de los vigilantes se dirigió a ella mientras recorría las salas y la conminó a descubrirse la cara o salir de las instalaciones, ya que el reglamento impide el acceso con el rostro cubierto.
La dirección del museo reconoce que esta prohibición sigue en vigor, pero ha comunicado a la contrata para la que trabaja el vigilante que éste no volverá al centro, pues debió haber interpretado con más flexibilidad la norma y no echar a la mujer.
Para el responsable de los museos venecianos, Giandomenico Romanelli, la decisión del vigilante fue «una iniciativa personal fuera de lugar».
«Puede que siga vigente un reglamento restrictivo de la época ‘caliente’ del terrorismo (años 70 y 80), y si fuera una persona con máscara durante el Carnaval habría entendido la reacción del vigilante. Pero tratándose de motivos culturales y religiosos hay que ser respetuoso», declaró Romanelli al «Corriere della Sera».
El presidente de la asociación de intelectuales islámicos, Ahmad Gianpiero Vincenzo, calificó los sucedido de «típico embrollo a la italiana» por la falta de claridad de las normas legales, y denunció que «aumenta el clima de islamofobia» en el país
Es decir, a las veladas hay que hacerles excepción, no siendo que nos llamen islamófobos.
Obra expuesta en el Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Bolzano (Norte de Italia)
El papa Benito XVI en una carta enviada a la dirección del Museo calificaba la obra como un Blasfemia ya que «es ofensiva para los cristianos que ven en la cruz un simbolo de salvación»
Por otro lado, el presidente del gobierno Regional, Franz Phal, se encuentra en huelga de hambre desde principios de verano para que dicha obra sea retirada.
La dirección del museo se reune hoy para decidir si retira o no dicha obra.
No he podido conseguir el nombre del valiente autor de esta obra que ofende a los cristianos para pedirle que tuviera los webbs necesarios para ahora hacer lo mismo con los musulmanes.

En Italia el nuevo gobierno de derechas está empezando a poner las cosas en su sitio. ¿Os imagináis al PP haciendo algo parecido? Pues olvidaros, porque estáis soñando despiertos.
Iba a escribiros algo de cosecha recogiendo varias noticias, pero estoy algo vaguete tras la semana de vacaciones, comprendedlo. Además, este artículo no está nada mal:
Hay en Milán una polémica que llegará pronto a España. En el centro de la gran capital del Norte de Italia, en la avenida Jenner, hay un centro islámico. Lo que nació hace años como muestra de tolerancia y de convivencia se ha convertido en un problema de orden público. Miles de musulmanes interrumpen cada viernes la circulación en la vía pública para rezar. Miles de jóvenes reciben allí una instrucción religiosa en lengua árabe cuyo contenido es desconocido por los ciudadanos y por las autoridades. ¿Qué hacer?.
El teniente de alcalde Riccardo De Corato (AN) lo tiene claro: si ha de haber un centro islámico en Milán que no altere la vida de la ciudad ha de estar en un lugar periférico y fuera de la capital lombarda. El ministro de Defensa y dirigente de AN, Ignazio La Russa, lo ha aclarado: «no hay prohibición de culto. Sólo pretendemos que los sermones sean en italiano y conocer el texto por adelantado». Más contundente en las formas pero en la misma línea el ministro Umberto Bossi: «Esta es nuestra casa, no regalaremos el país a nadie y el centro islámico se cerrará» .
Unidos contra la petición popular la minoría de izquierdas, representada por Filippo Penati, y los propios musulmanes militantes, como el presidente del centro islámico Abdel Hamid Shaari. Los dos aplaudiendo la opinón, personal y no institucional de monseñor Gianfranco Bottoni, responsable diocesano de relaciones ecuménicas, que ha hablado de «populismo» y de «fascismo» defendiendo la presencia islámica en la ciudad de San Ambrosio.
Es un debate que se extiende por toda Europa, y son muchas las respuestas posibles. Pero en cualquier lugar en el que se dé será divertido ver la reacción de la izquierda (dispuesta alternativamente a apedrear o a besar a los obispos según qué digan) y de la Iglesia. Quizás una catedral en el centro de Teherán o de Medina fuese una adecuada compensacién ecuménica, ¿no les parece?.

Siete hombres que siempre iban andando y nunca utilizaban ni el autobús ni el metro han sido expulsados de Italia. Según informa el periódico Corriere della Sera este martes, las autoridades relacionaban a los magrebíes con Al Qaeda. El ministro de Defensa, Antonio Martino, dijo que no se podía descartar un atentado en vísperas de las elecciones.
La basílica de San Petrino en Bolonia podría haber sido uno de los objetivos elegidos por el grupo de tunecinos y marroquíes. En la basílica se pueden observar frescos de la Edad Media que muestran la expulsión del profeta Mahoma y son un motivo de constantes quejas por parte de fundamentalistas que viven en la ciudad.
Según el diario milanés, un marroquí detenido el pasado noviembre en Grecia manifestó «que sabía que se estaba preparando un atentado en el norte de Italia en una Iglesia donde hay un fresco del Profeta».
Otro objetivo terrorista, según agentes de los servicios secretos, podría haber sido el metro de Milán, en una serie de atentados similares a los vividos en Londres el 7 de julio del 2005.
La policía llevaba tiempo vigilando a este presunto grupo terrorista que se distinguía -para evitar ser reconocido después de perpetrar un atentado- por no utilizar nunca ningún transporte público, ni taxi, ni autobús, ni metro.
Esperemos que otros más se conmuevan con el perdón de esta madre:

(Bloomberg) —Italian Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli resigned after a mob attacked an Italian consulate in Libya yesterday over a T-shirt worn by the minister that was printed with a Danish cartoon depicting the prophet Muhammad.
Calderoli, 49, had the T-shirts printed with the cartoons earlier this week and wore one on an Italian television talk show Feb. 14. He said the shirts weren’t meant to provoke Muslims, but instead to invite «real dialogue.»
«Senator Calderoli’s position isn’t that of the government and it’s evidently incompatible with an institutional role,» said Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in a statement on the government’s Web site today. «I respect all faiths and support dialogue between religions and civilizations,» he said.

Leo en The Counterterrorism Blog en relación a los disurbios de Libia que Gadaffi había hecho sus primeros comentarios al empezar la saga de las caricaturas. Al respecto, atacó sin especificar a colegios europeos en los que se decía que el Profeta musulmán no era un mensajero de Alá si no un mentiroso, dijo que los disturbios de París fueron sólo el principio de la lucha armada de los musulmanes contra la discriminación en Europa y que un día Europa se subordinará al Islam.
Allí, sin embargo, las protestas no se dirigieron a Dinamarca o a USA, si no a Italia. Libia fue una colonia italiana y hay una cierta animosidad contra los italianos en Libia. Over the last few days the CT Blog revealed how the whole cartoon controversy has been manipulated (byusing fabricated cartoons) andused by various forcesin the Muslim world for their political interests. The most recent wave of cartoon-related violence comes from Libya, as 11 protestors were killed while attacking the Italian consulate in the city of Benghazi. And once again, the protests seem to be far from spontaneous.
Last week Libyan Leader Col. Muhammar Ghaddafi made his firstcommentsafter the beginning of the whole cartoon saga. After an attack against unspecified «European schools that teach the children that the Muslim Prophet was not a messenger of Allah but a liar,» he went on to say that the riots that took place in Paris last fall were «only the beginning of the armed struggle of the Muslims against discrimination in Europe». He also added that «probably one day Europe will be subordinated to the Islam.» Not exactly a tension-diluting statement.
But parts of the Libyan establishment hold a particular grudge against one European country: Italy. The North African country was, in fact, an Italian colony, and a certain animosity towards Italy has always been widespread in Libya since its independence. All that Libya was waiting for was a good opportunity to create problems for Italy and the pretext was given by the Italian Minister for Reforms, Roberto Calderoli, who decided to sport a t-shirt with the Danish cartoons during an appearance on Italian TV. The perfect casus belli. As theEgyptian columnist Magdi Allamnoted on today’s Corriere della Sera, Libyan authorities immediately understood they had a great opportunity and masterfully orchestrated the backlash. The President of Libya’s Parliament, in fact, gave a fiery speech on national television, strongly attacking Italy. «We have to reopen the dossier with Italy. The Congress asks the end of relations with Italy,» said the President. «The time has come for the people to act against the cartoons that mock our Prophet and against the Italian Minister for Reforms who has launched a crusade against Islam.» The invective bordered the ridicule when the President said: «The Italian Minister asked the Pope to start a new Crusade against Islam, he wants to use force against Islam. They want to raise the Cross in the land of Islam. We say no.»
Few days later, what a surprise, came the mass demonstrations (in a country where normally all assemblies are strictly prohibited by the security forces) and the attack against the Italian consulate in Benghazi. The whole Muslim world took notice that Italy too wasan «infidel country» that «disrespects Islam»and the picture of the Italian Minister has even appeared on a pro-al Qaeda website. Libya just added its name to the long list of states, political forces, and individuals in the Muslim world who have taken advantage of the cartoon controversy for their political gains.

«The recruitment of volunteers to fight in Iraq against American soldiers cannot be considered under any point of view a terrorist activity.» These words, which would have been more fitting in the speech of a radical anti-war militant, were the core of the ruling with which a Milan Court of Appeals acquitted three men linked to Ansar al Islam (the motivation of the November 2005 ruling were made public only recently and excerpts from it can be found here).
As shocking as it might sound, this is nothing new in Italy. The Court of Appeals, in fact, only upheld the first degree ruling of another Milan-based judge, Clementina Forleo. In January 2005, Mrs. Forleo decided that the men were indeed part of a network that was recruiting fighters for the Iraqi conflict, but that the operations taking place in Iraq constituted «guerrilla warfare» and not terrorism. In her view, «Ansar al Islam was structured as an Islamic combatant organization, with a militia trained for guerrilla activities and financed by groups in Europe and orbiting in the sphere of Islamic fundamentalism, without having goals of a terrorist nature, goals probably shared by only some of its members.» Because one of the men on trial, Mohammed Tahir Hammid, conveniently declared that he did not agree with Ansar al Islam’s tactic of using suicide bombers, Forleo considered Ansar al Islam to be a «heterogeneous» organization whose members had conflicting opinions on the valid means to use in fighting enemy forces.
Therefore, according to the judge, Ansar al Islam could not be considered a terrorist organization as a whole and those who recruit and raise funds for it cannot be considered terrorists. Two men, while found guilt of minor crimes such as document forging, were acquitted of all the charges involving terrorism. The third, Mohammed Daki (who, incidentally, happened to be a close friend of top 9/11 planners Ramzi Binalshibh and Said Bahaji while living in Hamburg) was cleared of all charges and now lives happily in his native Morocco (after the Italian Ministry of Interiors deported him). I asked Padovese what he believes the real motive was for Santoro’s murder. He said he doesn’t know what demons drove this young man, but said dismissing it as an isolated act is a mistake. Rising Islamic fundamentalism and anti-Christian prejudice, Padovese said, shaped the context in which the teen acted.
«It’s the anti-Christian climate that has been produced in Turkey,» Padovese said. «There’s a strong current of religious extremism, and that climate can fuel this sort of hatred. It’s passed along in families, in schools, in the newspapers.»
Padovese said that every week the Turkish bishops’ conference prepares a bulletin citing«denigrating comments» or «banalities» about Christianity that have appeared in the Turkish press.
«There’s a false image of our presence that usually goes unchallenged,» he said.
Padovese linked Santoro’s death to the broader struggles of the small Christian population in Turkey, a country often lauded as a model of moderate, Western-style Islam, and currently a candidate for membership in the European Union.
«There were several million Christians in Turkey at the fall of the Ottoman Empire,» he said. «How is it possible that in the arc of just 70 or 80 years we’ve become merely 60,000 or 70,000? The truth is that hundreds of thousands of Christians converted to Islam, taking Islamic names and hiding their identity, out of fear of persecution,» he said.

Schneider insisted that the artwork was not meant as a provocation. He said he wanted to symbolise a connection between European and Arab cultures. The organisers tried to place the sculpture at another site, but finally decided not to display it at all. Instead, Schneider showed a video explaining his failed attempt.»
Cuando sucede una crisis internacional, como la acontecida con las dichosas caricaturas danesas del profeta, se emiten opiniones para todos los gustos y sabores. Revisando algún que otro periódico me entero de que un ministro italiano pide al Papa Benedicto XVI que lidere unas cruzadas contra el mundo islámico.
El ministro italiano para la Reforma Institucional, Roberto Calderoli, ha afirmado que Benedicto XVI debería enfrentarse al Islam como lo hicieron sus predecesores Pío V e Inocencio XI, quienes, aseguró, llamaron a las cruzadas.
El tal Roberto, miembro de la liga Norte y según dicen por ahí un poco racista el tío, se ha puesto a recordar los tiempos de Lepanto y le pide al Papa que hable con el mundo islámico para garantizar una reprocidad de derechos.
Tal vez su Santidad no se ponga a hacer cruzadas, ni mande a los ejércitos a tomar Jerusalén, pero sí se ha propuesto iniciar un diálogo con esta religión. Aunque, si nos fijamos en las palabras del propio Ratzinger, vemos que no tiene muchas esperanzas de llegar a algo fructífero.
El Papa manifiesta en un encuentro privado con expertos las dificultades para conciliar esta religión con la democracia. La Santa Sede invita a los musulmanes a participar en sus conversaciones habituales con los representantes judíos.
Eso sí, algunos no le han sentado muy bien estas declaraciones donde se pone en duda la imposibilidad de compatibilizar islam y democracia. Ya saben, es más fácil vivir en una mentira que abrir los ojos ante la verdad, y la verdad está ahí delante nuestra, dando gritos y haciéndonos señales de humo. Sólo es cuestión de no desviar la mirada.
The insulting of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) is something that the Muslims cannot and will not tolerate and the punishment in Islam for the one who does so is death. This is the sunnah of the prophet and the verdict of Islam upon such people, one that any Muslim is able execute. The response of the Muslims all over the world shows us the inability to deal with such people, the kuffar are attacking our Messenger and are allowed to get away with it whilst the Muslims have no power to do anything about it. The leaders of the Muslim world have no care for the deen of Islam as they are busy cementing their seats content with their power and wealth. Where are the Muhammad ibn Maslamah’s of our ummah who will defend the honour of our beloved Messenger and rise the banner of Tawheed high?

One of the buildings was the seat of the Centre Islamique Belge (CIB) in the Brussels borough of Molenbeek, where two people were arrested and several documents and personal computers were confiscated. A website close to the CIB recently called for the assassination of Nicolas Sarkozy, the French Interior Minister. “We must fight people who reject our democratic values and abuse religion for radical goals,” Laurette Onkelinx, the Belgian Justice minister said. The authorities added that this was the first tangible result of an “anti-radical action plan” aimed i.a. against websites inciting hatred and violence. Pasando de largo por el hecho de que han tardado prácticamente un año en hacer los primeros registros, es curioso que quieran asesinar a Sarkozy que, en los últimos disturbios del tren echó la culpa a la SNCF porque no sabían que la policía estaba vigilando una feria. Y que como nos dice Alex Corvus en este post entre otras cosas ha defendido la discrimnación positiva del inmigrante, la participación de los extranjeros en las elecciones municipales, ha calificado al Islam de una «gran» religión que debía estar representada en Francia -eso sí, añadiendo que los musulmanes practicantes que no fueran más allá de la ley, no sobraban. Incluso paró las expulsiones de padres sin papeles mientras que los hijos estuvieran en el colegio.

También nos llegan noticias desde Alemania: van a obligar a todos los niños en las escuelas a hablar sólo alemán. Los inmigrantes turcos han protestado diciendo que eso es una discriminación y que va en contra de los principios constitucionales. Maria Böhmer, Secretario de Estado para Inmigración, Refugiados e Integración del gobierno ha dicho que está a favor de una política «de integración ofensiva» en la que los tabús no será consentidos.
En la ciudad de Rotterdam se va a obligar a la gente a hablar holandés por la calle, e incluso el gobierno se está planteando adoptar la misma medida. Los inmigrantes afirman que da igual en qué idioma hable cada uno y que Holanda está pasando a ser, de una «dictadura de la tolerancia a una de la intolerancia». ehh, dígaselo a Theo van Gogh. Sin emgnargo, las encuestasdan la razón al gobierno: la gente se siente incómoda -o sea, muerta de miedo- cuando oye a los inmigrantes hablar en su lengua.

The most recent incident occurred last Tuesday in the Montreuil suburb where a 13 year old grabbed a pregnant teacher by the throat and tried to strangle her to the enjoyment of a number of his co-students. Among the incidents last week was an attack on a history teacher who was punched in the face by a student in Sarcelles. In the same week a 15 year old in Gisors broke the nose of another teacher and a Molotov coctail was thrown at a school in Argenteuil.

La Iglesia ha vuelto a advertir a las católicas contra el matrimonio con musulmanes, señalando la experiencia tan amarga que esto supone y que se incrementa si viajan a un país musulmán. Sr. Arzobispo de Antwerp, siga las indicaciones de la Iglesia, hombre.
En Noruegase han triplicado los jóvenes que piden ayuda frente a matrimonios forzados.Muchos chicos paquistaníes son incluso sacados del colegio para que puedan financiar su futuro matrimonio.
