Me entero en IBA de que todo el asunto de las caricaturas está coordinado (de The Counterterrorism Blog):
The controversy over the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed is expanding, as more Muslims join the boycott and protests against Denmark and various European newspapers decide to publish the cartoons, mostly out of solidarity with Jyllands Posten and to make a strong political stand.
One issue that puzzles many Danes is the timing of this outburst. The cartoons were published in September: Why have the protests erupted from Muslims worldwide only now? The person who knows the answer to this question is Ahmed Abdel Rahman Abu Laban, a man that the Washington Post has recently profiled as “one of Denmark’s most prominent imams.”
Last November, Abu Laban, a 60-year-old Palestinian who had served as translator and assistant to top Gamaa Islamiya leader Talaal Fouad Qassimy during the mid-1990s and has been connected by Danish intelligence to other Islamists operating in the country, put together a delegation that traveled to the Middle East to discuss the issue of the cartoons with senior officials and prominent Islamic scholars.
The delegation met with Arab League Secretary Amr Moussa, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Mohammad Sayyed Tantawi, and Sunni Islam’s most influential scholar, Yusuf al Qaradawi. «We want to internationalize this issue so that the Danish government will realize that the cartoons were insulting, not only to Muslims in Denmark, but also to Muslims worldwide,» said Abu Laban.
On its face, it would appear as if nothing were wrong. However, the Danish Muslim delegation showed much more than the 12 cartoons published by Jyllands Posten. In the booklet it presented during its tour of the Middle East, the delegation included other cartoons of Mohammed that were highly offensive, including one where the Prophet has a pig face. But these additional pictures were NOT published by the newspaper, but were completely fabricated by the delegation and inserted in the booklet (which has been obtained and made available to me by Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet). The delegation has claimed that the differentiation was made to their interlocutors, even though the claim has not been independently verified. In any case, the action was a deliberate malicious and irresponsible deed carried out by a notorious Islamist who in another situation had said that “mockery against Mohamed deserves death penalty.” And in a quintessential exercise in taqiya, Abu Laban has praised the boycott of Danish goods on al Jazeera, while condemning it on Danish TV. The controversy has now exploded in Denmark. Friday night Danish public television, DR, ran two interesting stories about Abu Laban, the man who organized the delegation’s trip to the Middle East. While the first profiled him, showing his extensive links to the Egyptian group Gamaa Islamiya, the second showed his double-talk.
Abu Laban, in fact, was first shown speaking on Danish television condemning the boycott of Danish goods (in English), then shown interviewed on al Jazeera, cheerfully commenting on the effectiveness of the boycott (in Arabic).

“The protests in the Middle East have proven that the cartoonist was right,” said Tarek Fatah, a director of the Muslim Canadian Congress.
“It’s falling straight into that trap of being depicted as a violent people and proving the point that, yes, we are.”
Simply amazing. A Muslim representative has actually admitted that the rising incitement over the political cartoons from Denmark only helps prove the point of those who feel that Islam is a religion of war and violence.

efectivamente están probando que la religión islámica no tiene nada de pacífico. Ojo no lo digo yo, lo dice el director del Congreso Musulmán canadiense de forma clara: «están cayendo en la trampa de ser pintados como gente violenta y probando el argumento de que sí, lo somos«.. Y todavía hay algunos que se creen en los cuentos de hadas.
Eso sí, el Presidente del Consejo musulmán da gracias porque en Canadá nunca llegarán a publicarse debido a las leyes anti-odio religioso (via Relapsed Catholic):
«Imam Syed Soharwardy, president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, says he’s thankful the kinds of cruel caricatures of his faith’s Prophet Muhammad — which have now run in several European papers — would likely never be printed in this country.
« ‘I am really thankful the laws in Canada are so clear about these anti-racism and anti-violence issues … this is why Canada is the model for other countries,’ Soharwardy said yesterday.»
Curioso en un país que ha pagado 150.000$ por un estudio en el que se señalaba los beneficios de introducir la poligamia.
Y en respuesta a las manifestaciones en las que se pedía la muerte y exterminio para todos los que insultaran al Islam, los conservadores británicos dicen lo obvio:
«The Conservatives last night called on the police to arrest militant Muslims who threatened Westerners with violence during protests in London over newspaper cartoons that mocked the Prophet Mohammed. As fanatics — some dressed as suicide bombers – staged more protests yesterday, David Davis, the shadow home secretary, said the police should take action against what were clearly offences of incitement to murder.»
¿Y esto no se le socurrió a los policías justo en el momento en que leyeron los carteles? Porque estaban en un inglés muy clarito. Si hubieran estado en árabe todavía me lo hubiera explicado. Pero no, estaban en inglés. Claro que si tenemos en cuenta la división del territorio en el Islam entenderemos mejor lo que pasa.
Algunas personas me han dicho que esto podía estar organizado porque todos los carteles eran iguales. Hmm, de eso no queda lugar a duda. Pero ¿alguien en sus cabales coge una pancarta en la que amenaza con el Holocausto real si no está convencido de que realmente eso es lo que quiere?
Por cierto, interesante noticia: ayer se fugó el cerebro del ataque al USS Cole que dejó 17 marines norteamericanos muertos. ¿Será casualidad? Estaba prisionero en Yemen.
Lo bueno es que no ha sido el único que se ha fugado:
Interpol said in a statement that at least 13 of the 23 escapees were convicted al-Qaida fighters.
The convicts escaped via a 140-yard-long tunnel «dug by the prisoners and coconspirators outside,» Interpol said. The Yemeni official said the prison was at the central headquarters of the country’s military intelligence services in a building in the center of the capital.
Another of the 23 escapees was identified as Fawaz Yahya al-Rabeiee, considered by Interpol to be one of those responsible for a 2002 attack on the French tanker Limburg off Yemen’s coast. That attack killed a Bulgarian crew member and spilled 90,000 barrels of oil into the Gulf of Aden.
Al-Rabeiee also was convicted for an attack on a helicopter carrying Hunt Oil Co. employees a month later and the detonation of explosions at a civil aviation authority building.
Cuando menos podemos sospechar que ha habido cierta dejación porque la «prisión estaba en la central de los servicios de inteligencia militar en el centro de la ciudad«. Y escaparon vía un largo túnel que fue «realizado por prisioneros desde dentro y co-conspiradores desde fuera«. Y ¿nadie se enteró? Todo muy casual, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el problema de las caricaturas y de Irán en el aire.
Por cierto, ecologistas varios, otro de los que se escaparon también ha matado personas pero sobre todo, «vertió 90.000 barriles de petróleo en el Golfo de Aden«. Los del Prestige, quiero una manifestación -bueno varias- condenando a este terrorista, digooo, luchador por las libertades, que pongan «NUNCA MAIS OTRO VERTIDO VOLUNTARIO de petróleo». Es lo que tiene ser de una religión que amenaza con matar a los que no son de su cuerda…. y mata en muchas ocasiones:
