Navegando por la Net me encontré con este curiosísimo site llamado Ask-Imam.com en el cual hombres y mujeres (teóricamente mahometanos) hacen preguntas de todo índole y un Imam (Mufti Ebrahim Desai) las contesta.
La pregunta 15386 es la siguiente: can women go for work? If so,then under which circumstances and how? (Pueden las mujeres ir a trabajar? en caso afirmativo, en que circustancias y como?)
La respuesta se la dedico a todas las feministas que se quedan calladas cuando se trata de defender los derechos de la mujer en el Islam:
The primary duty of a woman is to tend to domestic related work. Apart from nurturing her children and taking care of their well being, serving her husband, father etc. a woman has no other responsibility. It is the responsibility of her father, husband, brother, etc. to support her
traduzco: La principal obligación de la mujer es atender el trabajo domestico. Aparte de criar a sus hijos y cuidar de su bienestar, sirviendo a su marido, padre ect. una mujer no tiene otra responsabilidad. Es responsabilidad de su padre, esposo, hermano, etc. mantenerla.
According to Shariah, it is not permissible for a woman to leave her home except in dire need and necessity. The only exclusion to work is for that woman who has no relatives to support her and she is forced to seek a livelihood that is sufficient for her to live upon.
De acuerdo con la Sharia, no está permitido a una mujer abandonar su casa excepto en caso de absoluta necesidad. La única excepción por la que una mujer pueda trabajar es que no tenga familiares que la mantengan y se vea forzada a buscarse un medio de vida para sobrevivir.
