Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, in a speech to the nation’s leading Islamic clerics and academics, has admitted what many in U.S. intelligence have been saying all along – namely, Tehran duped the West on its nuclear program by continuing its development while using diplomatic talks to lull the Europeans into inaction.

Hassan Rowhani led talks with the EU3 – Germany, France and the UK – until last year and part of his job, reports the London Telegraph, was to play for time after Iran’s nuclear program was exposed by dissidents in 2002.

At the closed meeting of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, Rowhani boasted that during talks to forestall Iran’s nuclear program, which intelligence sources in the U.S. saw as part of an effort to build nuclear weapons, Tehran completed the installation of equipment needed to convert yellowcake at its Isfahan plant. The Europeans, he said, were convinced nothing was occurring at the plant.

«From the outset, the Americans kept telling the Europeans, ‘The Iranians are lying and deceiving you and they have not told you everything.’ The Europeans used to respond, ‘We trust them’,» he said.

Rowhani’s frankness, it appears, was motivated by internal criticisms from hardliners that he had negotiated away too much in recent talks with the Europeans. His comments, published in a journal available to the regime’s elite, seem designed to defend his performance.

«When we were negotiating with the Europeans in Teheran we were still installing some of the equipment at the Isfahan site,» he said. «There was plenty of work to be done to complete the site and finish the work there. In reality, by creating a tame situation, we could finish Isfahan.»

”We need time in order to put into practice our potentials. The day we can master full nuclear cycle, the world would face a fait accompli. The world did not want Pakistan to have [an] atomic bomb or Brazil to possess full nuclear cycle. But both achieved their goals and the world accepted [it]. Our problem is that we have achieved neither, even though we are not that far.”

In the Current Overall Assessment section, ElBaradei writes that even after three years of intensive Agency verification, the IAEA still cannot conclude that there are no undeclared nuclear materials or activities in Iran.
«No puede concluir que no hay materiales o actividades nucleares sin declarar en Irán». Pues ya lo saben que si no las hay, pronto las habrá. Pero, todos traquilos, tienen el permiso de Alá para tilizar la bomba… Así que  Ahmadenijad vuelve a repetir que no cederán en sus pretensiones cualquiera que sea la decisión de la AIEA .

Eso sí, en el blog CDR Salamander me encuentro con esta noticia :
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have taken the extraordinary step of cutting down thousands of trees in Teheran to prevent United Nations inspectors from finding traces of enriched uranium from a top-secret nuclear plant. (más aquí).
Iran has launched a missile designed to have a range of 4,000 kilometers.Western intelligence sources said the Defense Ministry presided over the launch of an intermediate-range missile in January 2006. The sources said the launch was the first of what they termed a Shihab-4 ballistic missile based on a Soviet-origin platform.
“The Qods Force (en la imagen, su símbolo) has an extensive network that uses the facilities of Iranian embassies or cultural and economic missions or a number of religious institutions such as the Islamic Communications and Culture Organisation to recruit radical Islamists in Muslim countries or among the Muslims living in the West. After going through preliminary training and security checks in those countries, the recruits are then sent to Iran via third countries and end up in one of the Qods Force training camps”, the officer said.

Atlas: I think we’ve moved too slowly and they’ve gotten too far. It is frightening to me  because Israel is such a small country, it would just take one,  to get one off
JB: yeah
Atlas: One
JB: Well, the president has used this phrase enough times, I don’t know if he ever used it in a speech, but he talks about his concern about  a Nuclear Holocaust — that’s his phrase.
Atlas: He’s right
JB: He’s got Iran specifically in mind. That’s why I am confident over time at the State Department, the President knows what he needs to do.
Atlas: You’re clear on that.
JB: Yeah, he’s got that, he’s got North Korea which he calls a prison camp. He said to Kofi Anna last September – it’s a disgrace that during our administrations this regime still keeps its entire population in a prison camp — which Kofi didn’t know what to say. There are things he’s gott  in his mind that are very clearly fixed.

They argue that a debate at the UN Security Council on the Iran crisis is unlikely to lead to effective sanctions and say that a Russian proposal to end the standoff also appears doomed. The trouble is that all of the steps that have been taken so far don’t seem likely to produce an acceptable outcome,» Gareth Evans, Australia’s former foreign minister and current head of the Brussels-based International Crisis Group (ICG), an independent think tank, said.
Mmm, Rusia.

Islam will soon be the domineering force in the world , placing first in the number of its followers among all other religions. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed this confidence here at the end of his state visit to Malaysia.

Following a meeting with Sultan Jamalullail I, the supreme head of the federation of nine states where Islam was proclaimed the state religion, he pontificated: “The world will be in the hands of Islam over the next few years.”

Tehran, Iran, Mar. 04 – A representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran University declared on Friday that Islam must “conquer the world” by defeating the West. Hojjatol-Islam Alireza Panahyan, who was delivering the pre-sermon speech at this week’s Friday prayers in the Iranian capital, said that the West was trying to put fear into the hearts of Muslims through “torture and nuclear weapons”.“We intend to conquer the world without [nuclear] weapons. Such weapons are not needed to set the stage for the return of the [Shiite messiah] Mahdi”, Panahyan said.

Posted by Spanish Eowyn en 6/marzo/2006

Australia’s Islamic spiritual leader has wrapped himself in the flag and promised to have Muslim extremists deported. Sheikh Taj Din al-Hilali has been photographed in front of a picture of Mecca with an Australian flag draped around his shoulders for a story in The Australian newspaper.

Sheikh Hilali has criticised Prime Minister John Howard’s hand-picked Muslim advisory body as «stillborn».

But he told the newspaper he is planning to convene a meeting soon of the nation’s moderate and radical imams to discuss putting an end to Islamic extremism. «Those who agree with us (and become moderates) will be considered a part of our community,» Sheikh Hilali is quoted as saying.

«And those who don’t agree, I will personally report them to the relevant authorities and have them deported

I am picturing a few muslims standing around the good Sheikh at Sydney Airport, holding his arms for balance, while he leans back (they don’t kick like they used to), foot poised on the backside of some fire-brand jihadist, clutching a one way ticket out of Australia.

Posted by Spanish Eowyn en 6/marzo/2006

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, March 6 (UPI) — The No. 2 man in the al-Qaida terror group has called for attacks on the economic infrastructure of Western countries to stop the «robbery» of Arabic oil .

The remarks were posted Sunday on an Islamist Internet site and attributed to Osama bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

«We have to prevent the crusaders from stealing the Muslims’ oil, which is being drained in the biggest robbery in history,» the statement said.

CNN said the audio appears to have been taken from a recent videotaped message, portions of which were broadcast Saturday on the Arabic al-Jazeera television network.

Al-Zawahiri spoke against the Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed and condemned the latest images of prisoners being mistreated by U.S. troops at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison.

«All this in the West is allowed so they can steal and occupy our land, and steal our wealth and insult us and our religion and Koran and our prophet. And after that, they gave us lessons on freedom and human rights,» he said.

«Tenemos que impedir que los cruzados roben el petróleo musulmán, que está siendo extraído en el mayor robo de la historia».

¿Robo? Ejem,… ¿con el precio a como está y con el destino que tiene, la COMPRA de petróleo es un robo?

Muy bueno el comentario que sobre esta noticia he leído en Freedom’s Zone :

I’m tired of hearing about this «Muslim oil» nonsense, as though the West hasn’t invested in the infrastructure and development of «Muslim oil» fields and production facilities, let alone developed the technology that has provided a customer base that has for far too long paid dearly for that so-called «Muslim oil,» and provided the funds that have provided Muslim terrorists their cell phones, computers, and weaponry that they use in their sick jihad – not to mention the food on their plates, the clothes on their backs, the roof over their heads, and the medical technology and medicines that help keep them alive in the first place.

I’m all for the West spending whatever it takes to rid ourselves of having any need whatsoever of their dirty liquid that pollutes our earth while draining our wallets and funding their jihad against us via Muslim oil masters that funnel our petro-dollars to outlets of Islamic jihad. Let the Arab Middle East continue to live in the middle ages while they go on killing each other over whose manner of belief in whatever prophet they want to believe in is the «true» whatever!

The first is the development of a deeply anti-Western theory of the world based on current events, wherein there is a grand conspiracy to undermine the Islamic faith. Al-Zawahiri describes the publication of cartoons satirizing Prophet Muhammad as part of a crusader plot against the Muslims, saying that the publication is «an example of the hatred of the crusaders led by America.» He said that Muslims should boycott countries where the cartoons were published, including Denmark, Norway, France and Germany. […]
A second theme is the oppression of the Palestinians. Al-Zawahiri voices his support for Hamas’s refusal to recognize Israel, and urges them to «continue the armed struggle.» He describes previous deals between the Palestinian Authority and Israel as «surrender accords,»[…].
In a third theme, al-Zawahiri urges Muslims to attack the West. He says that those attacks should hurt the West economically: «[Muslims have to] inflict losses on the crusader West, especially to its economic infrastructure with strikes that would make it bleed for years.»
A fourth theme emerges naturally from that: the importance of oil. Al-Zawahiri describes the alleged theft of Muslim oil by Western countries as the «biggest robbery in history.
And a fifth theme that Zawahiri puts forward is the need for Muslims to support Islamic terrorists financially. He says that al-Qaeda and similar groups are on the «front line» in defending Islam.
This al-Qaeda tape appears not to have been intended primarily for a Western audience, but instead for a Muslim one. As such, it provides insight into what the terrorist group believes will bolster its appeal in the Islamic world.

Los que quieren estar presentes en Palestina

Posted by Spanish Eowyn en 6/marzo/2006

Al Qaeda cells are operating in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said in an interview published yesterday.
The Israeli Defense Ministry told The Washington Times it had detected members of the terrorist group entering Gaza through the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian border, which was opened in November under pressure from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Mr. Abbas was quoted in the London-based Arabic-language newspaper el-Hayat as saying he had proof that al Qaeda cells had infiltrated the Palestinian territories and that he was «very concerned» about the development.
According to a Jerusalem Post translation of the interview, Mr. Abbas said, «If they succeeded in infiltrating in such a way, and if no one watches over them, the result could be disastrous for the entire region.
«The last piece of information I received on the subject was three days ago, but we still have not been able to lay our hands on the operatives,» he said.
The Jerusalem Post also quoted a senior Palestinian source as saying that Palestinian security forces had located several operatives spreading al Qaeda ideology and had arrested one such extremist in Gaza.
But at a press conference yesterday with Israeli Labor Party leader Amir Peretz, Mr. Abbas said only that he was worried about the al Qaeda threat.
«We have unconfirmed reports that al Qaeda, since it sent its members to Jordan and Saudi Arabia, may also send its members to us for the purposes of sabotage,» he said.
«Our forces are trying with all available means to prevent them from arriving to carry out terrorist acts in this region.»

Earlier evidence of links exists. In 2003, an Israeli ground unit in Gaza, seeking Hamas suspects, went into a school established by the founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin. Written materials that Israeli soldiers collected revealed the writings of a famous Saudi Wahhabi religious authority, Sheikh Sulaiman al-Ulwan. His ideological entry into the world of Hamas immediately raised eyebrows. After all, his name was featured in a famous Osama bin Laden video clip from December 2001, when the al Qaeda leader entertained his entourage on camera by re-enacting with his hands the hijacked aircraft slamming into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11.

In that video, one Saudi messenger entered the scene at the end, telling bin Laden that he brought with him a «beautiful fatwa» from al-Ulwan, who had justified the mass murder of Americans. Now his ideas have penetrated the Palestinians as well. And his Islamic religious ruling justifying suicide bombing attacks appeared on the Hamas Web site along with those of other al Qaeda clerics.

Also, in 2003 and 2004, Israeli forces found Hamas posters that were distributed in West Bank cities that extolled the war being waged by Islamic militants in the Balkans, Chechnya and Kashmir. At the top was the portrait of Hamas leader Yassin alongside the portraits of bin Laden and Chechen militant leaders like Shamil Besayev, who took credit for the bloody attack on a Russian school in Beslan. (mencionados aquí)

That Hamas and al Qaeda share some common ideological roots should not have come as any surprise. Hamas is an Arabic acronym for the Islamic Resistance Movement. Article Two of the Hamas Covenant reads, «The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine.»

Throughout the Arab world, the Muslim Brotherhood is regarded as the common wellspring of all modern jihadi terrorism. Its spiritual leader, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi, has been one of the pivotal figures in the globalization of the Danish cartoon rage as well as a supporter of fighting against U.S. forces in Iraq. Much of the al Qaeda leadership — from bin Laden’s mentor, Abdullah Azzam, to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of Sept. 11 — started out with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Hamas and al Qaeda, as Muslim Brotherhood offshoots, have had a number of notable links.

Bin Laden sent emissaries to Hamas in September 2000 and January 2001; Israel arrested three Hamas militants in 2003 after they had returned from an al Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan. Al Qaeda operations chief Abu Zubaydah entered the world of terrorism through Hamas. And according to a 2004 FBI affidavit, al Qaeda recruited Hamas members to conduct surveillance against potential targets in the United States.

«We want the Palestinian people to be exposed to the Iranian heritage and Shia principles. [Our goal is] to reinforce the relations between the Islamic republic of Iran and the Palestinian people. We are part of the Iranian Islamic project in the Middle East,» Muhamad Gawanmeh, director of Iran’s new Shia Council in Palestine, said in an interview.

Gawanmeh is a member of the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad terror group and has spent several years in Israeli prisons. He opened the council’s headquarters in Ramallah, and said there are plans to expand Iranian offices to several other major Palestinian cities in the West Bank and Gaza with official sanctioning from Tehran.

The council, which recently also opened an office in Egypt, claims to already have a membership of several thousand Palestinians.

Gawanmeh said Iran’s Shia Council will not be involved in «military operations,» but will promote Iranian theocracy to the local population and serve as a conduit for Tehran’s interests in the area.

Hamas people say that they’re not going to harass anyone – that they’re not going to impose anything, that they’re not going to impose a certain dress code or veils or whatever. «But it will come indirectly. Discrimination doesn’t have to be direct – it can be indirect.

«For instance if I’m working in a ministry where my boss is from a conservative background he might not allow me to be promoted.

«At university I might be discriminated against because I’m not wearing the cover.»

HT: The Big Pharaoh.

Hamas headed into a full-blown confrontation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday, voting to strip him of powers he was hastily awarded by his Fatah Party in the last session of the outgoing parliament.

In Gaza City, an Israeli missile strike killed two Islamic Jihad militants and three bystanders, including two young boys.

The Hamas-Fatah conflict has been simmering since Hamas swept Fatah out of office in January parliamentary elections, ending four decades of unchallenged rule by the party of the late Yasser Arafat.

Hamas has 74 seats in the new parliament and Fatah just 45, and the first order of business for Hamas was to cancel the powers the outgoing parliament gave to Abbas, the Fatah leader, authorizing him to cancel laws passed by the new parliament and appointing Fatah officials to key positions.

In the West Bank administrative capital of Ramallah, Fatah delegates walked out, accusing Hamas of twisting the rules to weaken Abbas’ authority.

Suleimaniya, la cabeza de la serpiente

Sculpture of Dead Children.jpg

Where is my sister.jpg

“I was ten years old. But they changed my age to 18 for execution.”

«Tengo 10 años, pero han cambiado mi edad a 18 para la ejecución».

“Dear Mom and Dad. I am going to be executed by the Baath. I will not see you again.”

«Queridos mamá y papá: voy a ser ejecutado por los baath. No os voleré a ver».

En esta prisión murieron 10.725 personas a causa de las torturas. Si se les condenaba a muerte, se les llevaba a Abu Ghraib donde tenían lugar las ejecuciones.

La mujer es un posesión en el Islam

The conversation you’re about to hear was a part of a TV show on the Arabic satellite channel about a subject in Islam called hand possession (a woman that a man may own). Basically, Muslim men are allowed to have up to 4 wives at any given time and on top of that an unlimited number of women whom are considered to be right hand possessions, right hand possessions in Islam have always been known the women P.O.W and a Muslim can buy or sell them in the market, nevertheless, the grand Mufti has come to us with a new modern definition removing slavery from the equation.
On the phone is the Grand Mufti of Syria (the highest Islamic religious authority in the country) by him and his companions the civil laws are tailored to fit into Islamic Sharia law in Arabic countries, he had the courage to speak the truth out loud, or perhaps he didnt think that the world wont be listening, we dont know the reason for sure. In the studio was one of the modern sheikhs who are striving hard to hide the truth about Islam by introducing Islam new look to the world.

El perdón de la madre de Santoro

« Speaking to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera , the boy’s father Hikmet Akdin, 58, said that he had heard of Mrs. Santoro’s forgiveness. ‘I know, and ever since I heard those words I have a desire in my heart. I want to save enough money to go to Italy and kiss that woman’s hands as a sign of gratitude. Please tell her how much I appreciate her goodness, which has touched me. I want to embrace her. She’s a courageous woman, and I’m sure is an excellent mother. I’ll kiss her hands, if it’s the last act of my life.'»

Nunca expulsarán a los judíos…

Posted by Chess en 6/marzo/2006
